Message I think that if you are just going to go to the track every now and then and want to upgrade your brakes. You should be fine with just steel braded brake lines metal matrix pads and fluid.

not true. unfortunantly. the less effective your brakes, the more heat they generate. this will cause premature brake fade and hydraulic boiling. stock calipers/rotors are pretty ineffective sadly.
the best middle of the road upgrade you can do, with out being hardcore, would be s.s. lines, good pads (metalmatrix are ok, but not the best for tracking), and a slotted or crossdrilled rotor. the rotors will help dissipate the heat better, increasing braking perfomance noticably.

the all out way to go for going 3-4 times are year would be a big brake kit including calipers.
